A Week of Possibility

It's Monday. And that means a whole week is stretched out before me. A full week during which any number of things could happen, especially in regards to my writing. I could hear back from an agent who's interested in my novel. Likewise, my non-fiction proposal. Inspiration could take over and push my WIP to a new, unforeseen place. A new idea could foam and roil. I could make a new connection; one that will serve to encourage me, or get me to that "next level," whatever that is.

Isn't it exciting? Knowing there's so much potential? And knowing you have a hand in how it unfolds?

For writers, as with anyone else, it takes forging ahead. You have to set structured, attainable goals, and work toward them with focus and command. And that's when you succeed.

What are your goals this week? What are you working toward?

Note: Since I'm due for Tuesday's Stuff and Things tomorrow, that puts my answers to your questions Wednesday. Still some time to ask away!

It is so funny to see how writers think the same way about weekdays. I almost (almost!) hate weekend just because I know nothing is going to "happen." I look forward to Mondays for all the possibilities they bring with them...hopefully this week will bring us both some good news!

That's one way we know that we love what we're doing - we look forward to Monday. Revising, writing, blogging, any and all are a joy.

To revise four more chapters and to get enough changes typed in that I can send fresh pages to beta readers.

Trying to keep my head above water with three teenagers and a full time job....oh, yeah, then there's that husband. I am motivated to work on a piece of short fiction for an annual local contest that I took first place in two years ago. I am struggling with finding time and "peace and quiet of mind" to work on this project as well as my other WIP. I really love your blog, by the way. May I add it to my blog roll?

Well, thanks a whole bunch, Michaele! You can certainly add me to your blogroll. :) Going to check your blog out now...

And I absolutely understand where you're coming from, juggling writing with other responsibilities. Today seems particularly hard for me to, like you said, find that "quiet" place from which to write.

Ugh! I don't want to think about everything I need to do this week. I somehow managed to write a poem today.. but beyond that, I will just try to make it to Friday.

I love Mondays too! We get a fresh week to hope and write and wait and get excited! I hope you hear back from an agent! I plan to send out my first query to one this week!

My goal this week is to catch up on all the blogs I read and actually comment on them!

*scratches one more off the list* :-)
