Do You See What I See?

We've had two or three sporadic warm days in the last month, and we spent a bit of time at our lake's beach for one of them.

I was able to get this photo, and I really love it.

I see inviting sand, ready to welcome me as I kick back with my pen and notebook. The sun would warm me, the soft waves comfort me, as I let the beautiful sight call my creativity forward.
`
What do you see?
`
`
`
**And speaking of photos... I posted a new one over under my profile blurb. Is it as dorky as I think it is? Talk a girl out of panic, wouldja?

a see Heaven. Walking on a sandy beach while the water hits your feet as the sun shines brightly on my face. Maybe holding someones hand and just walking for no other reason that just enjoying the moment and the company

But that's just me :)

Josh - And that's just great. I love the way you think! Will you come teach misterwrites a thing or two? ;)

Heather - I know! GRRR to the snow.

I noticed your new picture right away and really like it better! You seemed relaxed and casual.
I liked the way the sun glinted down on the water. My first thought was --Is it warm enough where you live to go to the beach?? I haven't even gone here yet!! And it will be 84 today!
Hope you get a chance soon to tell me the changes I need to do! I'm dying to see where I messed up!:)) Thank you again--I changed her name and that works better!

I see the future I want. To live and write full time at the beach. No worries about your new profile picture either, it looks great.

Thanks, guys, for the positive comments about the profile pic. Got me grinnin'! :D

Terri - We've still had to wear heavy jackets and stay away from the frigid water. And the wind by the water is so blustery. I'm ready for warmth and REAL time at the beach!

I don't know if you could see it in the photo - a little to the left - two people actually had their boat on the water that day! Brrr.

Cel - That's a very nice future, indeed. You'll get there!

In the beautiful water photo I see peace, pure and simple. And I love your new picture too! Lots of great fashion going on there, with the jacket, bracelet. You look content, and there's a writer essence to it. It works well.

I see something VERY NICE! Something that is in hibernation up here in The Mitten. It also looks like a smile in the water!

I like your new picture, you look happy!

Linda - Thank you! I think that's what I was going for, but maybe didn't realize. :)

Joanne - A "writer's essence." That's awesome, thanks! And I see peace, too.

Capri K - And then this morning we've gotten four inches of snow, and it's still coming down. Kinda puts a damper on my warmish beach picture. :(

Can I come over with my camp chair and sit awhile?

I see wading and paddling and looking for critters. I'd probably be way too distracted to write. Like almost everywhere else.

You don't look dorky at all, silly girl. That's your cover shot.

I see me, just off to the side - alone...reading a good book, my toes in the sand.

Janna, I LOVE the new profile picture! That's the first thing I noticed. :)

The beach picture is beautiful. I love shots where the light reflects like that - it makes me feel warm and cozy.

Janna Leadbetter said...

Jewel - Come on over!

Janet - Those distractions sounds fabulous! And thank ya, lady.

Kat - That sounds great, too.

Melanie - Thank you! And me, too. The shimmers are so pretty.

I see what appears to be a cabin in the distance. I can imagine myself there alone for the weekend, walking along the beach, collecting driftwood, and in the evening sitting around a stone fireplace--sipping hot tea as I read and do some writing.

Janna, I love, love, love the new photo. It's a keeper....absolutely stunning!!

And I forgot to say...I agree with Joanne about the fashion element to your photo!! Classy lady!!

I forgot to say that I LOVE your outfit, especially the blue shirt. Very pretty.

*Billy Crystal voice* You look marvelous. :)

Love the lake too! I am not sure I could write next to it though. Unfortunately I am one of those writers who needs a dark cell block and a computer to be productive. However, when I see your picture, it brings back childhood memories of camping and lying on a boogie board in the middle of a lake. (No, I wasn't waiting for waves.) ;)

Janna Leadbetter said...

Barbara - Well, thank you! So much. And I love your thoughts about a solitary cabin visit.

Melanie - Thanks! The shirt has adorable cap sleeves, and I look forward to wearing it with no jacket this summer. :)

Well thanks, Billy. I mean, Turk. ;) Wish you were close enough to come float on boogie boards this summer!

Love your new profile picture!

I see warmth. Now some may only be able to feel warmth, but I see it in the rays of sunshine hitting the water's edge. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part. A nap in the sun sounds heavenly to me.

Really love the new picture. You look like the one in charge!

Sun on the water, foam at the edge, ripples coming in, what beauty you captured. I love being by the water, on the beach. Makes me feel serene and this is as close as I'll come for now so thanks for taking me there!

Janna Leadbetter said...

FringeGirl - I get it; the warmth from the rays. Love it. And a nap sounds wonderful!

Joy - LOL, I'll take it!

With the weather as cold as it was today I see frigid ocean water lol. But the first thing that popped into my head was "Footprints int he Sand" because of the, well, footprints I see there :-)

Love the new pic btw!!!!

So pretty! Oh, how I wish I was at the beach! I do my best writing on my vacation every year! How strange!

Angie Ledbetter said...

Great photo of you! Looks like one you'd see on a book jacket. :)

The beach picture reminds me of "Footprints in the Sand."

I think it is my first time commenting on your blog, although I have been following it for a while now. I cannot help it this time. Your profile photo is just perfect. You look very natural and like a very nice and interesting person. I would read your book only for this author photo on the jacket.

Janna Leadbetter said...

So WOW! You guys are making me feel much better about the picture. Thanks!

ChristaCarol & Angie - I love that you both brought up Footprints - it's always been one of my very favorite poems!

Colby - That's awesome! Maybe one day you can live on a beach, and do your best writing every day?

Jenni - Are you totally landlocked where you are? I never thought about it once growing up, but now that we've been living at a lake, I'd miss it if we ever moved. :)

Lori - Wow, thanks for following! And thank you for the comment! That is quite possibly the sweetest thing ever. ("I'm not worthy!" as Wayne and Garth say.) Thank you. :)

Jessica Nelson said...

Nice beach picture. I've always thought that the sun shining on the water looks like diamonds.

Janna Leadbetter said...

Jessica - I love walking along the water line, letting my toes sink in the squishy sand!

Josh - [insert little heart symbol here]

Kathy - The way it shimmers and winks, absolutely!
