Thanksgiving

Look closely. Do you see them? The fingers of God? They reach thick and full and bright through the clouds, stretching toward that which is His. The land, every thing upon it, near, far, breathing, not. You, me. All is His, and He wants to touch, warm, remind of purpose and beauty. Call out His existence.
`
I watch for and eagerly await those fingers. When I see them, and it's often if I'm looking, I know He's not far, not really. And I know He sees me, too, insignificant as I am from His highest perch. But I am. And you are. Each of us in this great big, hurting, beautiful, brilliant, lacking world.
`
We are.
`
For this, I am thankful.
`
`
This holiday, what are you thankful for?

Wow. Excellent thoughts and lovely writing.

I am thankful to be, as well. And thankful we share the same time on earth with each other, dear sister.

Beautiful picture! God's fingers were reaching through the clouds on the day my mother passed. They were reaching through when my husband asked me to marry him. So naturally, I have a fondness for those rays.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!!

I actually see a face on the left-hand side--a profile of a face. Interesting.

I am thankful for my husband, kids, and extended family, for my home, my friends, books and writing.

And I'm thankful for my good health because nothing else would matter if I didn't have that.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family Janna!
I am thankful for people like you who can still see the beauty in creation even when the skies are dark and we have to wait a little longer to see those fingers of life.

Hi Janna -

Beautiful picture and post. I think about Romans 1 where it says people are without excuse because God can be seen in creation.

Blessings,
Susan :)

Beautiful post! I will always look at skies like that differently from now on. :)

Friends with skin on ... and without.

You can almost feel those rays can't you. Just have to breath deeply and enjoy the core expanding feeling.

What a perfect metaphor. I'll never look at those bursts of light in quite the same way again. Thank you so much for this.
