RQ #19

It is a good thing for an educated man to read books of quotations.
Winston Churchill
`
I got so tired of hearing those proverbs when I was a child. Now I use them all the time. Sometimes they are the best way to say what needs to be said. I teach them to my students. I have a collection of [quotes] for class discussion and writing assignments.
Marva Collins
`
I might repeat to myself, slowly and soothingly, a list of quotations beautiful from minds profound; if I can remember any of the damn things.
Dorothy Parker
`
`
If you were to be quoted in the future, what would your statement be?

I love proverbs and quotes! The one by Winston Churchill is particularly good.;)

I have nothing witty at the moment (can I blame it on morning-brain?) but I love quotes and actually just posted a funny one by Flannery O'Connor on my facebook. Heehee.
Seriously though, it's amazing what can be expressed in a quote.

I'd steal a quote from George Eliot. "It's never too late to be who you might have been."

I think mine would be something to the effect of:

"One's circumstance does not define their potential." --JQ

I am not quotable! And I'm at work and can't think right now...but...I like that last one!

I have zero capacity for coming up with an original quote. :O But I do love them, and I agree with ol' Winston Churchill. I might head over to my *sniff* going-out-of-business Borders, which is now offering 60% off their inventory, and pick up a book of quotes I've been eyeing. While I can't come up with my own, reading others' is a great stimulator for story and blog ideas.

Laundry - Unless we become a nudist, we can never get it all done. TG

Ok, so that's really not what I'd want to say to every generation who comes after me, but it might help a lot of women get over their housekeeping hangups. ;-) Besides, I can't think past my pile of laundry right now.

I love a good quote. Let me try to think of one from me off the top of my head: "I couldn't hide from my heart." Janna, not sure why that came to me, but there it is.
