Just finished reading our paper and there's an activity going on this weekend where there is a 7 acre corn maze adventure. The minute I saw your post I visualized the beginning of the corn maze and how much fun it would be to do.
Space Aliens. No, seriously. They always show up over corn fields (Its in their "Alien Guide to Earth Visitations") and the clouds would provide a perfect screen. :)
I'm feeling rather than seeing. My grandparents had corn fields and I remember playing in them with my sisters. Running up and down the rows. Laughing. :-)
"People say the sky in Iowa is low. Storm clouds slide in and sit right on your shoulders. I guess I should have seen a thing coming, but I didn't. I just didn't have a clue."
rough and skectcy thoughts, but that's what came to mind.
Can I just say -- I am OBSESSED with clouds. I don't know what my deal is. I have so many pictures on my computer because I like to watch the sun rise & set every day and we get some amazing colors. Ibis has started to give me weird looks because I'm always telling him to look at a cool cloud.
Oh, I like this. I'm drawn to the clouds first and I love the way they seem to go on forever. Then I notice the corn and the stark contrast it has to the sky. But altogether a pleasing image that makes me feel warm and...well, like creating.
I see exactly what I see every day when I drive into our farm. I never see the beauty of it, though, like in this picture. I'll have to look closer next time.
At first glance, I thought the dead brown field kind'a ruined the clouds. But as I looked again, I saw the cycle of harvest and the clouds that watch-over and nourish.
I see a sweet juxtaposition of colours. I see my past. I see my future. I see a pleasant afternoon with me walking, fingers pocketed. I see hawks. I see wind. xo erin
Am I the only one who sees a whale up there in the clouds??? I'm obsessed with finding pictures in clouds, since I was a little girl. My overactive imagination. But see it? Right there, with a MOBY DICK mouth and an eye?? Okay, maybe it's just me. :P)
she's hiding in the dried corn, her feet pushing into the dirt, maybe she could grow roots, down they'd go, and she'd turn into a stalk of corn, growing green and then golden in the sun, and never ever never ever again would she have to hide, for she'd be a part of the corn.
I see simple beauty.
ReplyDeleteMostly the clouds. Beautiful!

Happy Friday.
It seems to go on for a long time. :O)
ReplyDeleteCorn Flake fodder.
ReplyDeleteNo, seriously, the first thing that came to mind was a labyrinth, so much fun to wander around in this time of year.
That corn needs picking.
ReplyDeleteFor some odd reason these words come to mind: The Great Divide.

The end of a storm. Our fields are being harvested now. I'm starting to see snow mobile trails in them.
ReplyDeleteA bit of heaven and a bit of earth. Life's a mixture of both.

ReplyDeleteMy journey of writing, unending. A great mystery that needs to be explored.
ReplyDeleteThis is what I see:

ReplyDeleteSo for me, I see happiness.
Rows of clouds more distinct than the rows of corn, and a very low sky...
ReplyDeleteStephanie - I couldn't pass up the photo op!
ReplyDeleteDonna - How fun!
JKB - Exactly.
Diane - The clouds did, too, that day.

ReplyDeletePeriwinkle clouds racing over the harvest.

ReplyDeleteThe clouds look like they are going on forever. I love that.
ReplyDeleteThe corn looks like an army gathered together!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful day, looks kinda looks like that here today, minus the corn. :)
ReplyDeleteAt first glance, I thought the dead brown field kind'a ruined the clouds. But as I looked again, I saw the cycle of harvest and the clouds that watch-over and nourish.
ReplyDeleteCindy - Me, too. Create away! :)
ReplyDeleteJill - I love periwinkle.
Susan - Awesome. I hope you find it!
Nadine - Isn't it awesome?
Glynis - It sure does! Wonder who they're united against?
Analisa - We have lots of corn around these parts. :)
Karen - I'm glad you gave it a second look. :)
Isn't it cool how we all see differing things?
Corn and clouds?
ReplyDeleteNice picture!
