Finished!

I finished the rough draft of my second novel!

It took almost 8 months to write. And there is still yet much more work to do. Edits. Rewrites. Fleshing out. Filling plot holes. Tying it all together.

It's almost overwhelming.

But not quite. Because the thing is written, and now I get to move on to the rest. Yay!

Celebrate with me?

  3. Yeah for you! I'm finding my second one harder to write than my first. I think it's because now I know the rules, and I'm stumbling over them. I keep reminding myself: "Don't get it right, get it written!"

  5. Terri, yes! That's the one.

Shelby - When it's ready, and I mean really, really ready, I'll start the agent search. I have book 3 started, too. :)

  6. ^ Actually, I shouldn't speak to soon. I want to seek representation with it, but there's a lot of work first, before I can determine if it'll even be a potential.

  7. Yay! Novel number 2- you are on a roll! Will you spend as much time editing this novel as you did the first one?

  8. That's a really good question, Tamika. I hope to spend more time with this one. My first novel was only about a month's worth of edits. But it wasn't a very deep story. My writing with it was superficial, and my hope is that this book will be layered a bit more. I want to put more work into this one.

  9. Great news--that is a great accomplishment as the drafts of so many others never make it to the done stage.

"Finished" with anything is a reason to celebrate.
