HOLY SQUEE!

In the mail this afternoon was a FULL manuscript request (on spec) from Avalon Books! Can you believe it? I can't believe it! I know this means nothing significant quite yet, but it still means something, you know?

Ohmygoodnessgivemeachillpillandcallmegood, I'm SO excited!

For now I have to calm myself enough to read the letter in its entirety, but I'll fill you in more later. I just had to come deliver this rockin' news!

SO excited!

And was it Terri who suggested I submit to Avalon? Thank you, thank you, thank you!

  2. Thank you, Rachel!

I'm not sure how nearby it's listed. Women's fiction and narrative non-fiction - it's s contemporary romance novel that Avalon will be reading.

    Whoo!

Do you have much Christian reference in yours? I do and wasn't sure how much they took.
    I'm praying!

  12. Thanks everyone, for the excitement. Yippee!

Terri - The spiritual content in Bliss Lake is present but minimal, mainly because I'm finding my way with writing such things on a large level without sounding preachy. I did notice, though, that Avalon seems to target the more generalized "wholesome" category. BUT, when the time comes for you, give it a whirl - and also keep Steeple Hill's LoveInspired series (SH is an imprint of Harlequin), which puts huge focus on Christianity and inspiration. They're on my list next (I'll have to enhance the spirituality in my ms), should Avalon pass.

  15. Melanie, thanks again! (I don't mind at all.) "On spec" is for :on specification," and just means I have to meet a list of their requirements with my submission.

    Barbara, thank you!

And thedomesticfringe, I'm so glad you stopped by. Thanks!

  16. Gotcha, thanks. I always understood it where a publisher requests that an author write a book that the publisher has already outlined. That makes sense now.

  17. Melanie, I just realized "on spec" means "on speculation." So I've completely confused myself as to what it does mean. I started a thread over on AW...
