Random Question #1

I'm starting a new line of every-so-often posts. Because I'm curious, that's just how I do.

Because stuff such as this, random, insignificant in most ways, stores up as valuable fodder. They're details I can recall on whim.

And so here's the first, to kick us off. Be as vague or as detailed as you like.

How often do you change the sheets from your bed?

  1. Weekly (glad I don't have to answer this one while I was away from home as a college undergrad.

  2. Weekly . . . And soon I'll be able to dry them outside *sigh* The best smell EVER. : )

  3. You're supposed to change the sheets???? ;-)

  4. I'm also glad to be answering this question at THIS point in my life... about every two weeks. While in Mexico it was sometimes more if it was especially hot.

  5. Ahya, um, when it occurs to me. Not so much with the clock.

  6. Weekly, though I'd love to change them more often. Nothing like fresh smelling, soft clean sheets to snuggle in especially if they were hung out to dry!

  7. *Hiding and peeking around corner*
    once a quarter...

There, it's out. I can be grubby and a horrible house cleaner, but I sure make a great wife and mom and I can write some.

    P.S. Don't tell anyone. ;)

  9. Every Friday morning. I had to do this while growing up if I wanted to have my friends over for sleepovers. I guess the habit just stuck with me.

  10. I'd say weekly

but it wouldn't always be true.

I heard Oprah sleeps on brand spanking new sheets EVERY single night. Maybe a rumor, maybe true...

  11. Every week or two. I hate the feel of grit on the sheets.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I try to once a week! el stinko....:O)

    ReplyDelete
  13. Definitely weekly, and definitely hung outside on the line in Spring and Summer!

  14. I try for once a week. But I have gone through periods where I can't remember what day I last changed them?! Lately I'm on a kick of Mondays. But then this week that didn't happen so, here we are Weds. And the bed's not made yet today so there is still a chance. And more for your fodder . . . sometimes I add in this fact: if my hair is just washed that day, the sheets have to be changed/clean. If my hair will be washed the next morning, I can go another day before changing the sheets. I know, does this make any sense? (I wash my hair every other day - does that help?)

  15. Okay, well I feel like it's safe enough for me to open up and comment myself... ;)

    Wendy, I'm like you. Shh...

And any time I put new pillowcases on pillows, I think of a childhood crush. EVERY time. Why? I have no idea. I can find no correlation between him and pillows.

  16. Only as often as is necessary. (Which isn't very often.)

  17. Only you, Janna, can get already 16 comments on such a random question...only you!!!! You must have the magic! LOL!

Hmmmm...not on a schedule, just basically when they need it. Probably monthly...but saying that sounds so ewwwwww...but I do pillow cases more often, usually do them every weekend.

Love the first crush/pillowcase mystery! Too cute!

  18. Generally three times a week, I hate dirty sheets. The one thing I'm pretty OCD about.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Once a week, sheets hung on the line to dry as soon as the weather allows in the spring. I'd have clean sheets every night if someone else took care of me.
    :-)

    What about you?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Once/month or as needed.

Pillowcases are a different story. Those are changed a couple times/week.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oh! I should probably add that we take our showers BEFORE going to bed, which I guess keeps them cleaner longer. :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. I don't, my husband does. Luckily I married a domestic man. And don't ask me about his schedules... I'm off in my own world. I just occasionally notice that the color has changed, that's about it.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Okay. You are going to embarrass me here.

    I never change them.

    Yes. It's true.

    But my hubby does!

If he had his way, he'd mimic Jackie O, who supposedly HAD her sheets changed twice a day (yes, she napped).

I'd say hubby gets around to every week and a half, two weeks.

You are the greatest mix of steady and humor!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Gosh, really? Um... mostly once a week. Sometimes they just fall off the bed. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Well usually once a week, unless we've had a nightly visitor then maybe more often. Maybe I should qualify that last statement, I meant my toddler. She's still in diapers and well you know what sometimes happens. Okay, said enough. I'll stop now;)

    ReplyDelete
  26. I should say once a week, but the truth is every two weeks.

    Ack! I'm so embarrassed!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Tom, I'll be honest. If that's humor, it's lost on me.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Every two weeks. Looks like I'm in the minority. Oh well.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Oh well, Janna - win some, lose some. Me - I just try to be winsome.

If my response to your question was not interpreted as humour by you - why, then it stands true - how often I change my sheets is none of your business. My bed is sacrosanct, and it's where I go to get away from freaks like me!

    ReplyDelete
  30. LOL...I'm not telling...snicker....

    ReplyDelete
  31. I aim for weekly, sometimes it slides a bit, but not too much, I love crisp and fresh. Can't wait till I can get them out on the line!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Probably once or twice a month. I'm seeing a lot of weeklys in the comments. LOL Does this mean I'm a dirtier person than I thought?

    ReplyDelete
  33. No joke Janna, I was going to ask this question on my blog!!! I'm curious too.

once a week for me, but I don't have extra sheets, so I wash, dry, and remake the bed right away.

  34. Here's to the every two-weekers! Hey, think of how much energy (literally) you'd save if you just lighten up a little. Summertime, though? I could change them every night and follow Oprah's plan if I had her money. Ick.

    ReplyDelete
  35. So funny. They're in the dryer right now and I always love clean sheet night. I wash mine every two weeks or so.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm with Amy Sue - you have to change them?

Bunk beds - bunk beds made me change my weekly routine. I hated making them. However, I have told my children sheets are to be changed weekly. I'm certain they'll do that. Right?

    ReplyDelete
  37. I would love to say weekly, but it’s probably every two weeks. Only down to the fact our apartment is like an ice cube, and we wouldn’t survive if we didn’t use a multitude of blankets and hot water bottles. Which in turn make you too hot, and coincidently (sharing the bed with a bloke) the sheets stink to high heaven after the first few nights. Yuk, put it this way I can’t wait for the warm weather to hit us, so I can ban hot water bottles, two duvets and four blankets. Not to mention be able to hang the sheets out in the garden! Lol. :D

    ReplyDelete
  38. I try to change them once a week but we don't have replacement sheets...so I have to do it on a day I'm going to be home for a while to get it completely washed and dried before bedtime.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Uh, oh, I think I'm in the hot seat. It should be every 2 weeks. Now I'm starting to wonder if I'm overdue :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. I don't change them -- my wife does. I've volunteered to help, but she won't let me touch the laundry--not even my own. I think she doesn't trust me with it and she doesn't like the way I fold things.
But if I did it, I would probably do like she does-- change them once a week or more often if necessary.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Once a week. But if I lived alone, probably once a month, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Um, I forget.

    Actually, it depends.

Can you tell I'm a grade B housekeeper?

    ReplyDelete
  43. I refuse to answer this question on the grounds that it may show how much I don't change them....but when they don't smell fresh..I do it.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Before children-weekly
Since children-every other week if I'm really lucky.

Actually, it's been more consistent since the older ones can change their own.
