I've tried, but it's never quite worked out for me. I use the internet for news, work stuff, and research, and it's only too easy to say, "Gee, while I'm on here, might as well see who's on Facebook". Good luck :-)
Use the time well. There are times when I lock myself out of everything "connected" both literally and figuratively. Happens about once a month for a day but usually longer.
Gosh, I'd love to disconnect. Unfortunately, at the day job, if I DID disconnect, I'd have nothing to do during those very long stretches when there is no work coming in. :-)
When I write, though, I use my laptop that is NOT hooked up to the 'Net. I get a lot more done htat way.
That is a fan-freakin tastic idea. I've gotten so caught up in the tweets and the the fb and the blogs...when does one WRITE things that really MATTER??? lol

ReplyDeleteEnjoy the time off - I really need to unplug as well...really need to!

ReplyDeleteSometimes we all need to do that. Blessings on your book and writing thoughts!
ReplyDeleteI tried for about 5 Minutes once ;)
ReplyDeleteI semi-unplugged last month for a week. It help me manage my time much better. Enjoy your break.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to try that one day a week and see whether I am truly an online addict.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, Janna. I may do that myself.
ReplyDeleteI am late on this one, but I am seem to only be able to unplug a few things to focus on others (rather than a true disconnect).
ReplyDeleteI hope your writing is going well.
