8 Is Enough

Who remembers that show from the 80s? I loved it! Watched it with my mom and sister every week, if I remember correctly.

Anyway, today's post is intended to ease into the week. Capri K did this meme a few days ago, and I thought it'd be fun to play along. Join in, if you like!

And come back Wednesday, when I'll have a guest post from new author Danielle Thorne. Until then...

8 Things I Look Forward To

1) spending time with some girlfriends
2) seeing my sister
3) getting the (currently gutted) main bathroom's remodel completed
4) the end of school, so my girls and I can sleep in and spend our days playing
5) (not to rush it, but...) fall, when both my girls will be in school, and I'll have some allotted time to myself
6) garage sale season!
7) the chance to query Bliss Lake again
8) meeting more writing buddies

8 Things I Did Yesterday

1) napped
2) rested
3) took it easy
4) missed church
5) drank chai
6) caught up on e-mails
7) worked on Bliss Lake
8) ate shrimp

8 Things I Wish I Could Do

1) find a cure for pain (any and all)
2) shop
3) hire a maid
4) go to a writers' conference this summer
5) see 17 Again
6) spend a few hours at Barnes & Noble
7) dig my toes in a sandy beach
8) be at ease around people, all the time

8 Shows I Watch

1. Castle, my new favoritest show ever! I make time to watch this.

These I love, but can rarely catch...

2) American Idol
3) The Office
4) Law & Order SVU
5) Law & Order CI
6) CSI: Vegas
7) Family Guy (best references to pop culture EVER)
8) SNL

Wow! That was harder than I thought it would be. See if you can do it!

And thanks for your thoughts and well-wishes yesterday. I appreciate your concerns, and I do feel much better.

Yes, please do find a cure for pain!

Definitely remember 8 is Enough, watched it all the time. But I sound like you, not much time for tv these days. Great lists, how exciting to have Bliss Lake's querying on the horizon again! Best wishes.

I just love summers and the long days to enjoy playing with the kids! We love to go to the park in summer and hang out with friends. Thanks for your sharing!

LOL I know I can't.
Fun game. :-) I'm looking forward to summer too.

Oh, I'm loving Castle too!!!

Castle is fun. Good to have a writer as the main character, right?
I'm happy you're feeling better.

Jenni - I really think Zac Efron will have a huge career ahead of him, don't you?

Capri K - That'd be a good one to play in reruns.

Joanne - It's tough to sit down in front of the tv, when so much else is going on, right? :)

Jody - Yes, it sounds so perfect! We like the park and pool, and the beach here at the lake where we live. We have no shortage of great things to do! I'm really thankful for that.

Jessica - Aw, come on. I'd let you fill up your tv answers with House! ;)

Kristen - I can't stop raving about it!

Lori - All the "inside" jokes make me giggle like mad.

Thanks, everyone! I'm a new woman today, and it feels great!

Yay! For feeling better!!

What a great list. I think it's funny you decided to do this the day after you did nothing. I bet you were stretching to come up with eight things for yesterday. :)

Glad you're feeling better.

Janna Qualman said...

Melissa - It's merely a dream. My girls haven't mastered the art of sleeping late. ;)

Turk - Yay! I agree! :D

Melanie - Yeah, it was a stretch there! I had to pull something out of the air, and not talk about a day in bed. :)

Love your favs and wish lists. So nice to get a peak into the YOU of it all. (Yeah, I love Neesy Nash on Clean House. Also loved 8IE show.) :)

Have a great and painfree day, you!

WV= clatsup :)

Wow that was fun to read! I remember 8 is enough! It brings back fond TV memories....

Ah, the summer sleeping in ritual -- I love it!

And, I too was a fan of 8 is Enough...who was that hunky older brother?

Janet said...

8 shows I watch? I can't even name one!

Nadine said...

Loved your list! I definitely want to see 17 Again!! I keep watching the trailer on my Mac!

Terri Tiffany said...

I don't think I could name half this stuff! You did great--and love hearing things. I was perturbed that you said you don't feel at ease around everyone cause you sure surprised me!

Janna Qualman said...

Angie - "WV= clatsup :)"

Huh?

T. Anne - Yeah, I suddenly want to see it again!

Tess - Shoot, I can't remember. I remember Willy Ames, but I think he was the middle brother?

Janet - You're better off than the rest of us, then. ;)

Nadine - I have SUCH a crush on Zac Efron. Shh...

Terri - You're right! I've GOT to stop thinking like that. :)

I love the office! But, I've missed so many of them this season, I don't know what's going on - I caught part of one where Michael quit the paper company? I hurried and switched channels until I can catch up!

Glad your pain is better...big hugs to you...

8 is enough - I remember that now. I watched it, too.

Loved Eight is Enough. Had a crush on the oldest brother. ;o) 8 seems to be coming to me. My daughter just celebrated her 8th birthday and my older daughter gave her presents themed around 8--8 gifts of 8 things like 8 pencils, 8 erasers, 8 "bouncy balls", etc. And now Eight is Enough and your list. Hmm....might have to pencil in some 8's on my lottery tickets!

Janna Qualman said...

Kat - Hubby and I haven't seen any of the new ones in weeks! By the time we settle in, we realize we've missed it. BUT! TBS (I think) plays reruns, so we get our fill with those. ;) And btw, Steve Carell is tops on my list!

Amy - Indeed! :D

good show, but I loved MacGyver and Murder She Wrote.....yeah i said it and i am not ashamed of it!

Great meme.

I've come to the conclusion that my son will NEVER sleep late. As long as he's semi-quiet so I can sleep late, I don't care. ;-)

Glad you are feeling better!

Don't know about the show, but I am SO in favor of Things I Did Yesterday. Napped. Rested. Count me in!

Great list Janna. I dearly loved 8 Is Enough!

Yolanda said...

Really like this meme and I too had a thing for 8 is enough

Janna Qualman said...

Josh - Murder She Wrote's title was the inspiration for this blog's name! :D

FringeGirl - You need to do a meme like this!

Kelly - It was only by default, because I was sickly. :(

Ang - Thanks! Good to see you again.

Yolanda - It was a great show! I'm thrilled so many people remember it. :)

I want to dig toes in sand AND take naps, please!

I think Law & Order SVU (or that might be Criminal Intent) is the cause of your headaches. I'm just saying, cut back and you might be cured!

Good to get to know you better.

Janna Qualman said...

Colby - Let's do it!

Woman - LOL! Could be, lady. Could be.
