I sit, favorite coffee beside me, pondering the day ahead. Time to myself is stretched before me, and I anticipate the moments I'll steal, the stuff I'll do just for Janna.
Birds chatter in play, lifting my spirit in preparation, and a breeze blows the newly-dressed tree outside my window, giving me glimpse at the freedom I'll own.
But I won't scatter just yet, because I like this still and calm, this expectation. Will you join me? Feel it for yourself?
My desk calendar tells me today is Beverage Day. What beverage will you have, just because? What thoughts would you share if you could pull your chair to mine?

It's about 6:20 here, so my coffee is in hand. A lot swirls around in my head in the mornings, all the things I have to do crash into all the things I want to do. Whatever is left standing after the tumult is over is what actually gets done! Once my kids are off to school I'm looking forward to a morning of writing, it's time to scale that wall that's been in my way.
Thanks for helping me think that through!
I wish I could have joined you. My day began without a moment to ponder. But I'm reclaiming a few moments now, and thanking God for coffee and Curious George. :-)
And since it's Beverage Day, once the clock strikes a respectable hour, my "just because' beverage will be a Mojito. Thanks for providing me with the Beverage Day excuse to indulge in my favorite cuban cocktail!
I just came back from dropping off my daughter to preschool. I wished I could relax, but I keep playing in my mind all the things I have planned for today, before I have to pick her up. OK. I'm relaxing a little. That feels good.
I've eaten my breakfast and crawled back into bed to read awhile here. But water is my only beverage. It's off to the dentist today to get a tooth filled!UGH!
Beverage day? Well I just finished my morning cup of coffee, and besides that I generally only drink water or juice. So I'll have that.
Have a peaceful day. :)
I'm soon to have a cup of green tea in hand as I scroll through the blogs I love to read and as I edit some more of a chapter I need to get off to the woman who is critiquing my book!
My beverage would be a fresh, hot coffee, with a couple small pastries on the side (one for you!). Then I'd talk writing, where we're at, where we want to go, what's up with our current wip's, strategize a little, read some of each other's work. A real writing-coffee break sounds nice right about now!
I'll pick up a mocha frap from Four-butts and plop into the rocking chair next to you. I have news about a book signing I went to on Saturday, but I can't stay long because I have to mail my mother's day gifts.
I need one of those healthy engergy packed drinks today. There's too much to do for me to sit and relax today. Maybe tomorrow. Tomorrow sounds good.

I just finished my morning beverage (Diet Pepsi) and wish I had another to devour.
I think it'd be fun to talk about our shared faith. :-) I'm feeling in a reflective mood this morning.
I'll grab a Moxie. Let's ponder "dwelling in possibility" a la Dickinson. :-)
By all means let's relax together! I'm brewing a large pitcher of green tea right now. (decaf of course)
"What thoughts would you share if you could pull your chair to mine?"
LOVE this line! You are such a good writer!
Naturally I have my diet coke in habd except *gasp* it is caffeine free! I am alternating between regualar diet coke and ceff. free in order to wean myself off of caffeine soon. I have been having too many headaches lately.
Amy - I totally understand the swirling! Usually my mind puts so much thought into what I could be doing, I don't get anything done.
Mylestones - I live for those few reclaimed moments. :)
Lori - Good for you. ;)
Terri - Ooh, yuck. How'd it go?
Melanie - You're so good with your water. I'm still doing alright, I suppose.
Jody - That's exciting stuff!
Joanne - I can't tell you how much I'd love that, truly. :)
Hat Chick - A mocha frap? You are my kind of girl.
FringeGirl - I'll be here with bells on!
Melissa - I believe I would, too. :)
Rebecca - I'm guessing a convo with you would never be dull. ;)
T. Anne - Sweet!
Turk - You've made my day! Thanks.
eastsidemommy - Welcome! And thanks for joining us. I have to watch my caffeine intake, too, because of migraines. Stinks, huh?
Beverage day? I don't think I drank anything except for some water today. But I ate a lot of watermelon, so that kept me hydrated.
Oh! I'd love to join you! (with a chai tea, of course!) With hubby putting in long hours I'd talk anything grown-up to anyone who will listen :).
Coffee ever at the ready. I really wish we could sit knees together and talk about life and writing. Maybe one day!
Kristen - You and your watermelon!
Kelly - Chai + playdate = good times :D
Angie - Totally. Gotta make it happen.
Coffee...coffee...always coffee. I figured out today that I drank eight cups since this morning. Don't tell hubby, he will have a fit! He doesn't think that much coffee is good for me!
For a sit and a conversation like this one, only coffee with cream will do for me. Five more weeks until school is out and summer starts and my mornings will all feel like this for a while. Thanks for inviting us to join you.
MichaƩle - Your secret is safe with me. And, um, the rest of cyberland. ;)
Deb - I'm looking forward to the end of school for that very reason! :)
well, I would have a nice glass of sweet tea and tell you about being a little stressed because I don't have dance ready that I have teach tomorrow! Yike!
Colby - Sweet tea sounds great! I haven't made any in the longest time.
