Unplugged

I'm unplugging from the internet this week, so as to focus on my novel-in-progress with no (or fewer, anyway) distractions.

Have you ever given yourself time to disconnect? How did it work for you?

Have a great week, all. :)

I've tried, but it's never quite worked out for me. I use the internet for news, work stuff, and research, and it's only too easy to say, "Gee, while I'm on here, might as well see who's on Facebook". Good luck :-)

Enjoy the time off - I really need to unplug as well...really need to!

Use the time well. There are times when I lock myself out of everything "connected" both literally and figuratively. Happens about once a month for a day but usually longer.

Gosh, I'd love to disconnect. Unfortunately, at the day job, if I DID disconnect, I'd have nothing to do during those very long stretches when there is no work coming in. :-)

When I write, though, I use my laptop that is NOT hooked up to the 'Net. I get a lot more done htat way.

That is a fan-freakin tastic idea. I've gotten so caught up in the tweets and the the fb and the blogs...when does one WRITE things that really MATTER??? lol

I'd like to try that one day a week and see whether I am truly an online addict.

Great idea, Janna. I may do that myself.

I am late on this one, but I am seem to only be able to unplug a few things to focus on others (rather than a true disconnect).

I hope your writing is going well.
