Look what those kids did.

`
On Friday my daughter came home with a stack of thank you cards from her class. There were colorful designs and clear pictures (lots of spring flowers!), often of writing tools or books. Several mentioned haiku poetry, most mentioned their notebooks.
`
There was an "I like writing stories." And "I love writing."
`
Every one of them signed either "love," or "your friend." One said, "I hope we get to see you again." Of course, this from the boy I'd pegged as the most interested in what I had to say. A budding writer!
`
I am so, so touched. I cried. This is how I felt, reading their notes:

I'm glad you were surprised, and then moved in that way!

You're touching those little hearts with creativity. Hope many sparks were lit! :O)
Sometimes when we think we're doing mediocre work, it has a great and lasting effect. This is possibly because people see us put our heart into it. <3
That's wonderful that they were so inspired by you. Way to go.
Very sweet. I am sure they will provide you inspiration for a long time!
How rewarding! A little appreciation goes a long way :)
Don't you just LOVE kids???
What a wonderful surprise and a true blessing!
Oh, how sweet! I love that our kids are learning generosity and the joys that come with it. Yay for little writers!
that is a pay day for queens. wonderful.
Janna, there's nothing sweeter than honest, open thanks from a child. And you had bunches of them. Precious!
That is so sweet!
Someday you may read a dedication to you in a book from one of these children. It could happen.
How sweet! Children are so geniune! They will have give you some beautiful memories.
Aw, that is lovely! I love it when kids get excited about reading and writing, and for them to so openly show their affection and appreciation for you is simply beautiful. What a great group of kids - and you're a wonderful woman touching their hearts and souls the way you do. :)
That's so awesome! I'd have cried too! Now you know you made a difference for sure, not that there was any question about that, Janna.
I can so relate to this - when I was pregnant with my youngest son who is now 31, my daughter's class made me cards congratulating me on the birth - it was very special. I still have those, of course!
What a wonderful teacher! seriously. I've taught in so many classes, and rarely does a teacher remember to have her class say thank you--and to have it be in such a way is perfect!
How special.

Wonderful - I feel good for you! Next time you wonder why you write, pull out these cards as a reminder.
