Travis Erwin, The Big Hairy Texan*

I would be remiss not to take part in the Bloggerland call to help.

Travis Erwin, a fellow blogger and writer (of women's fiction, no less!), lost his home last Sunday. Not only did the whole thing burn to the ground, very few personal items were saved in the meantime. While he, his wife and their kids are all safe (thank God his young boys weren't home at the time), they find themselves in need.

I can't, without panic striking my chest, imagine what they're going through.

If you feel led to do so, please visit a site set up to benefit the Erwin family. Many have given donations, but prayers and well wishes are just as apt. All I ask is that you do what you can.

Still thinking of you, Travis.

*I did not bestow him with this lovely title. It is of his own doing.

You reminded me to mention this again on my blog. I have a link on the side but I know people don't always read those.

I hope this helps him and his family.

This morn is my fisrt foray back into the blogosphere, but I already know that many of y'all have blogged about my family and offered help in whatever way you could. Eventually I will thank everyone, but I'm stating right here with you, Janna. Many thousands thanks.

How sad to read this, and wonderful to see the support for a fellow writer/blogger. Heading over there now.

Oh, that's so terribly tragic. I'll visit that site now. Thanks for making us aware. They will certainly be in my prayers.

Terri - Thanks! I hope your second comment attempt goes through.

Melanie - I betcha they'll be blessed many times over.

Aw, Travis. Hugs!

Joanne - I think the blogging connection is most beneficial when rallied in such a way.

FringeGirl - Thank you so much!

I remember when I first read his post about the fire - I literally gasped out loud. Couldn't believe it. Travis is such a great guy and a terrific writer. He's in my prayers every night.

I am like you - my chest tightens at the thought of losing everything in that way. It's devastating - *shaking my head*

I need to mention it on my blog - I forgot to do that!

(and it wouldn't have been cheating to look up the shakespeare quote -- who would know that off-hand - other than Mrs. Gray -my shakespeare instructor!...teehee!)

It's good that so many people who don't even know each other in real life can help a blogging friend. Prayers to Travis' family.

Melissa - It took my breath, too.

Kathryn - I figure the more places we mention it, the more help he'll get!

Jessica - Sure thing!

Kimmi - Hugs are so great. :)

Colby - It's a good feeling, isn't it?

Like you, I did a mention this week for Travis & family. What a tragedy, but with God's grace and the help of real and cyber friends, they will pull through. Hugs to you, sweet thang.
