“The most important relationship you have in the world is the one you have with yourself; everything and everyone is a direct reflection of the quality of that relationship.” ~ Esperanza
Got some good nuggets at the blog today. Kat's got great inspiration to share about the writing process, and she reads excerpts from her new book too. Oh, and a contest! Come play if you get time. Huggage
Love it! Came across this one awhile back and it spoke to me:)
"For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way. Something to be got through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life." ~Fr. Alfred D'Souza
“Writing a book is an adventure. To begin with, it is a toy and an amusement; then it becomes a mistress, and then it becomes a master, and then a tyrant. The last phase is that just as you are about to be reconciled to your servitude, you kill the monster, and fling him out to the public.”
Oh, you said inspirational quote. That's not, quite, but I love it anyway. It makes me laugh and feel cheery. Churchill always had that effect on me. After reading him, I believe I can do anything.
"Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go do that because what the world needs is people who have come alive." - Howard Thurman
Ummm, nope. LOL I wish I had some up in my noggin, but I don't. I like the one you posted though. It's really good. Of course, most of them are. I'm SO tired. Angie, if you read this, I'm disagreeing. I need my eight hours every night. Ha! :-)
Love these words. And all the words in your comments! Am totally out of inspiration at the moment. Do you mind if I just take today. Will come back another day and give. I promise! x
Yes!! because what people don't always realize is that sometimes when you realize your dreams, it can still be frightening, the work has just begun, the doubts can still rise up . . . and you take a step forward and another and another and keep that face forward.... :)
The only one coming to mind right now is "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." Maybe because my son just spilled a whole glass of milk on the floor--I should have put it in a sippy cup.

Good one.
"Bloom where you are planted."
Life is hard and then you die, so eat your breakfast.
Not inspirational, but just what I happened to say when one of my kids was complaining. : )
Go, fight, win.
It's all I've got today, but it helps me keep the humor where I need it.

I'm not sure if it is inspirational, but it works!
I love this! Oooh, and Slamdunk that's another great one!
Writers should be read, but neither seen nor heard.

And my personal favorite: Write tight! (no extraneous words)
My favorite:
Life is not measured in the number of breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away.

I've got too much hope to ever give up. Not too catchy but it's true!

Great one.
All I have to offer is this "TRY"
It's not from me, but lately my favorite inspirational nugget is:
"Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured." (President Gordon B. Hinckley of the LDS church)

Ha! We are on the same wavelength today. Chase the dream is all I have to say!
"Write for the Audience of One. He publishes your work without a second thought."
Great post as usual!!!!

My current favorite, from Winston Churchill:
“Writing a book is an adventure. To begin with, it is a toy and an amusement; then it becomes a mistress, and then it becomes a master, and then a tyrant. The last phase is that just as you are about to be reconciled to your servitude, you kill the monster, and fling him out to the public.”

Hi Janna -
I don't have a nugget, but I can sure receive the one you gave. Thanks so much.
Blessings,
Susan :)
Hmm... You have a story only you can tell. So do it. :0)
my favorite inspiring quote:
"Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go do that because what the world needs is people who have come alive." - Howard Thurman
"The greatest use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it."
I think of writing when I think of that quote. My words will outlast me.
"Find the word that soars off the page." I think that often when I'm writing my poetry.
I'll sleep when I'm dead.
Can't remember where I got it from, but it's been my favorite saying after sleepless nights with the kids.

I loved reading these this morning as I get ready to go out the door! THanks everyone for a boost of inspiration!

One of the reasons I think we look up to athletes, actors, successful writers is because they don't hide behind excuses. They go for it.

I found great comfort in this the other day.
