Just Some Things

A fused and cohesive post they do not make, but here are the random thoughts on my mind today.

Ready?

Go.

* It's dreary here this morning, and after I do today's WIP revisions, I may have to take a nap.

* Speaking of revisions, I found my stride again. I'm learning: It's about trusting myself and the process of writing.

* I just finished reading a grand book by Elizabeth Flock. Her writing is wonderful, and I found it inspiring! She's been added to my sidebar of favorite authors.

* I passed my business card to a complete stranger yesterday. She's just opened a new business, and I told her I'm a writer, that I could maybe help with such-and-such, and she could contact me if she wanted. My friends (who were witnesses) said it wasn't awkward, though it felt like my insides were exploding with awkwardness. Next time, I'll pull it off even better.

* There are two pieces of chicken bacon ranch pizza leftover, and they may have to be my lunch. Might steam some broccoli, for some added nutrients.

* I bought an old wood-framed screen door thing at an antiques store yesterday, and hung it on my living room wall. Sounds odd, but I actually like it a lot. (Maybe I'll work a blog picture in somewhere down the line.)

* I keep getting side-swiped by humility. I think it's a good thing.

* Why is it that the more balanced I feel, the more Things To Do I have waiting in the wings?

* I checked out the Sony eReaders at a store display yesterday, and the screens were much smaller than that of my Kindle. Made me glad for the Kindle.

* Today I MUST scrub both my shower and my girls' tub. MUST. And maybe make an apple pie.

What are your random thoughts today?

Let's see...

*There's no food in the house - except ice cream in the freezer, and I really would like some breakfast.

*I should go to the grocery store and buy cereal.

*I'd have to get dressed before leaving the house and going to said grocery store.

*I guess I'll have ice cream for breakfast.

Glad you made that connection and was able to hand her your card! I remember my stomach being tied when I mentioned that I wrote Sci-fi to a stranger. Still ties my stomach!

I'd love to see what you did with the door. I saw an old window in an antique store during our vacation. I couldn't visualize where it would go though.

My thoughts today...
-Ugh, I have a uti this morning! I hope the Dr. has an opening today!!
-Wish the tile guy would finish our balcony already!
-School begins next weekend, am I ready?

Hope you have a great day!

After reading your plans for lunch, I am now hungry at 10:40 am. Darn.

Congrats on the business card distribution--I think it will be much easier from now on.

My randam thought is that we are watching the hurricane--the Mrs. wants to visit her elderly grandpa on Long Island on Saturday (me and the little ones would stay home).

That Flock book looks good.

Humility likes to knock me on my feet a lot too. Now I ask it to. ;D

Love,
Wendy

I'm all about randomness.

You get a lot accomplished when you get up early, but you always need a nap.

Thinkin': Chicken bacon ranch pizza sounds like a TOTALLY awesome when washed down with an ice cold Dr. Pepper.

Hmm...
* There's food but don't cook.
* Clothes to pack for football weekend.
* Wip is staring at me.

The business card will get easier--honest.

I have three window frames on my long livingroom wall...I put an old timey looking black and white picture of the kids in each window opening and it looks really cool (imho) so I totally get the door thing.

Hmm.

*Why am I eating a frozen meal for lunch AGAIN?

*I can't wait for my dessert - Dove Dark Chocolate.

*I should probably try and work in some writing this afternoon. It's a slow day.

*I want a nap.

I like the nap idea.

My son got his permit. I have a blogpost for tomorrow, but I'm not sure I'll live through teaching him to drive.

But then I'll have more blogposts, won't I?

Your random day sounds a LOT more fun than my organized one.

LOVE that screen idea. My daughter has hung one in her bedroom and it's a SHOWCASE for all her cool dangly earrings. Talk about cheap art!

Bye, dear one.

It's dreary here too. I'm thinking a nap is definitely in order. That is after I put away the 5000 loads of laundry that seem to have accumulated.

Good for you! Networking and getting your groove back with revisions--nice! I hear you on the balance/to-do list. Never ends.

Love your random thoughts...all except the bathroom cleaning chores. (Put that one on hold a couple more days or weeks?) ;)

Sideswiped by humility...Love it! :-) Have fun with those revisions, and I'm glad you found your stride!

I like your screen door idea a lot. Your house is so cozy sounding:)
I will add Elizabeth Flock to my list and see if she is in my library when I go this week.
random thoughts? Revisions stink. I wish I didn't have to cook dinner. I wish someone would come vacuum for me.

I'm liking the screen door idea. I've always wanted to incorporate some old wooden shutters on my wall somehow.

I've been away from home and in Houston for almost a month now. Love being with my parent's, hate being away from hubby.

Thinking I'm so lucky and at the same time wondering if my body will ever finish healing already.

So many choices on what to comment on so I’ll go with the one that would be difficult on me too – passing on a business card. Yeah for you!

Hi Janna -

I must do a blog post.

Am I out of my mind for starting a second blog (which I see you've discovered - thanks!).

Bills need payment.

Today is workout day. Again.

Blessings,
Susan :)

Mine:

I am depressed and can't shake it.

Babies are so stinkin' cute.

If it weren't for morning coffee, I would never talk.

Will I or won't I. And do I even want what I think I want?

Rain makes me sleepy.

I'm so excited that your revisions are going well! And I'm so proud of you that you passed out your card!

Let's see, my thoughts:
Form rejection on a full - boo
Need to start earning more money
We need more veggies in the house

I loved reading your random thoughts, Janna. They make for such an interesting peek into your world.

So far, my thoughts are...

I need to go to the grocery store, but first I have to go upstairs and shower and clean up 'cause I'm all sweaty from exercising.

Gotta do something about a website I maintain that's glitching, but it's an overwhelming project that I wish I could avoid.

Should think about dinner, but, bleh. Think I'll see if you live nearby and I'll come steal your apple pie off the window sill. That sounds like an excellent dinner.

You go, girl! Hand out those business cards. Yay for you!

"Why is it that the more balanced I feel, the more Things To Do I have waiting in the wings?" This is EXACTLY what I'm experiencing, too!

Hi. I'm new here. *waves* Nice to meet you.

I love this post, especially:
* I keep getting side-swiped by humility. I think it's a good thing.

And, well, chicken bacon ranch pizza...YUMMMmm!

I'm slogan through revisions right now, too. I wouldn't say I'm in the phase of 'hitting my stride'. I'm in the Hell phase. School starts back up next week...maybe I'll get back to the hitting stride phase. :)

Have a delightful holiday weekend!
Lola

Grrrr, curse auto spell check. SLOGGING is the word I was after. :) (not slogan. he he) Sorry about that.

Oooh, I love random thoughts. Let's see...

We are going to visit our grandkids this weekend, and I know we'll come home worn out, but it's worth every sigh.

Jesus is a cool dude who didn't put up with uncool dudes.

I love my husband, even though he lays awake nights thinking of new ways to annoy me.

One can never have too many parties or cats.

These are my favorite kinds of posts! I loved when you said, "trust the writing process." I think you typed that especially for me. You know, Janna, sometimes I run across people in the blogosphere that I know I'd love to meet in person. You have that brand of energy I can feel, relate to, and enjoy. I hope, someday, our non-cyber paths cross.

Have a great day!

I want to see that screen door thing on your wall! Really bad, I want to see it.

Random thoughts...

40 min till I get off work...and won't get to go write because hubby wants to go look at computer monitors. For him.

I want a Nook. Just dropped money for medical bills and writers conference registration so can't buy one. But I wannnnnnt one.

Dog needs a bath.

When's my next paycheck?

Do we really need deli meat?

35 min till I get off work...

Wow, you've been busy. Glad you took the plunge and handed out your cards! I need to clean....but....well....

I took the dog to the vet for shots, ate lunch with friends and need to do some writing.

Do show us your door.
