I'm one who has a hard time picking a favorite season, but fall may well be in the front-running.
This last week has been amazing, full of beauty and nostalgia. The cool, crisp days combined with changing leaves and rich aromas make for a warm existence. I want to bustle around and make my home clean and cozy, where the air is filled with potential.
How does fall make you feel?

What a great picture! Is this near where you live cause I'm moving if it is!!
Fall here is great as we start to get some weather in the low 80's and high seventies so it is a nice break and it rarely rains. Lots of festivals to go to!
Fall is beautiful, but it always makes me a little bit sad. Too close to my birthday to have all these things dying! Oh boy. LOL!
My favorite season is spring, personally. Late spring, after all the rain, when everything is green and bright and just warm enough. *sigh*
There is something rather majestic and impressive about all those fall colors, though.
Things I like about fall :
The ways trees look as though they're on fire. The leaves dripping down, and how clean and stark the branches look against the sky.
Arrows of geese cutting through the sky. Chestnuts scattered on the sidewalk.
Things I don't like about fall:
The first cool bite in the air, like a promise of winter. Dawn coming later and later, and cold rain turning trodden-on leaves into a brown paste.
Thanks, Terri, it is! I took this yesterday as I drove in the lake's main entrance. You can see water straight ahead, which is the mouth of the cove we live on. Come on over! Just like most places, many houses are for sale here. Two writers in such close proximity could take over the world! ;)
Jen, I forgot our birthdays are within a day of each other (if I remember correctly). Didn't we discover that over on AW? And I never looked at fall that way, LOL! I agree about spring; it's a close second for me. :)
Well said, Marian. I agree with all you said, except that I like the cool bite in the air. Maybe not so much because it promises winter, but because it means we can pull jeans and sweatshirts out, stock our supply of hot chocolate and apple cider, and bake without overheating the kitchen. :) Thanks for coming back!
Fall makes me feel warm, cozy, and loved. It makes me want to bake and prepare for the holidays.
Beautiful picture, the enchantment of fall is well represented within it. I do enjoy all seasons, as I feel it's just a greater part of me. I love the vivid colours all around, and the leafs falling ever so delicatetly. I like watching those simple things.
Lovely view! I was just thinking about the effects of fall this morning when I opened a window and was welcomed by a cool breeze that smelled like chimney smoke. The trees are absolutely breathtaking during this time of year, and my dinner menus change from bbq fare (summer) to crock pot cooking. This is also the time when we get our last sunny days before the winter rains take over.
GREAT picture! Is that the view from your home?
I tend to do more wholesome baking, too, Barbara.
Thanks for the lovely words, Ana (Pat). :)
Turkey - That's a smell I love; that of a woodstove and the like. Definitely says fall.
Thanks, df! No, this shot is from the main entrance. Our house is around the cove to the left of where we see through this picture. Every time I crest the hill to this view, I'm reminded of the blessing of our amazing surroundings.
I agree with Barbara on the warm and cozy feelings, very comforting. I also like the whimsy of pumpkins & scarecrows, keeping things fun.
Fall makes me want to drink apple cider and wear orange sweaters.

Melody - I have several of those myself! ;)
fall means I'm that much closer to winter :)
This weekend was full of pumpkin picking, apple picking, and getting lost (really lost!) in a corn maze.
I love fall!
Falls is crisp and clean. I love the chill to the air. And it's hunting season so it's easily my favorite season.
I love fall and I think it's the season I miss the most. I love the smell of burning leaves (when it's allowed), the crispness in the air, snuggling with sweaters that had been put away since last year. Ahh...
To be honest, I think I love whatever season I'm in the most at the time :-) I love them all for difference reasons!
Hey Janna. I was browsing some sites and stumbled upon yours. I love this picture. I, too, have a hard time picking my favorite season. I love the colors of fall. The colors seem very calming to me and inspire me. I was born on October 6th along with an identical twin sister (Pam) and we have always been partial to this time of year.
Hi, Ang, thanks so much for visiting! I love seeing new faces. :) And Happy belated Birthday, too!
