[F]oto Friday!
Each Friday (unless I forget, because it's been known to happen - and with the exception of next Friday, since I'll be sharing a special author interview), I'll post a photo pulled from somewhere in my computer's files. And then? I'll write about it. It could be a small blurb about the photo itself, or the person in it, but, more than likely, a short fiction piece based on what I see.
It'll be fun using my own pictures, plus the exercise will keep my thoughts fresh, and allow creative breaks from my WIP. I welcome you to join me!
And so without further a-- wait, I already said that...
I'm gonna do it, Mom. I am. I've got my bag packed and loaded in the cab. My map is right here, and my thermos is filled with the good stuff: chocolate milk. It'll keep me goin'.
I've been waitin' a long time for this, Mom, and I'm ready. I've been studying daddy's driving. I can turn the wheel like he does. I even know how to honk the horn, like you.
BEEP BEEP!
See? I think I may--
Wait, Mom, what's wrong? Why do you look so sad? Aw, I won't be gone long, I promise. I was thinking of going--
What?
Mom, I'm a big girl, now. Remember, I just had my birthday? It's time. I'll be okay. Look, see? I'm buckling my belt now.
But...
Oh, alright. Alright! You wanna go with me? I guess that's okay - I've got enough chocolate milk for two. And, um, my foot won't reach the gas.

Love your new blog idea! Am I a copycat if I do one on mine too????
Adorable picture and love the story that goes with it! You may have to put all your pics and stories into a book later.
Oh! I LOVE it! She's so cute! And alright here's the deal... how about I send you my modern emma (after I'm done editing it) [http://www.authorjennijames.com/emmalee] and then once you've read that one, you can read the REAL one which is WAY better! Jenni
Great story, great imagination! I'm still chuckling. One of my favorite pics and hard to believe the "big" girl watching Stewart Little here at my house was so little not so long ago. Going to be a wonderful day!
Grandy (or Mom)
Very Creative! Good idea to take a break from the WIP and let our creativity take another form!
Cute idea.....considering something like that myself...trying to decide how to randomly choose the pics. Like maybe the first week, choose the first photo folder and the first picture. Next Friday choose the second photo folder and the second picture in that folder....but sounds confusing after a few weeks, and I'm bound to loose count...but hey...no one will know anyway, huh?!
Thanks for your comment over at the Fringe!
From Sweet Pea:
Hi Mommy,
I like your story, it is very cute. I miss you and I hope that you and N and daddy are having a good time. I'm going to have my breakfast now. Love, E. Kisses and hugs......
Love that story. My sweet Skibbie is only 5 years from driving. Why can't she just stop growing up?
Thanks, Capri K, Linda and FringeGirl!
Donna - Nope, not at all. Do it! :)
Jenni - That's a good idea!
Mom/Grandy - I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Jody - That's what I was thinking, it's important to change things up a bit. :)
Nina - You should do it! Let me know if you figure out a good system for choosing pics.
Sweetpea - I'm so glad you're having fun at Grandy and Papa's! And is it your first breakfast, or second? ;) I love you.
Hat Chick - It's so bittersweet. I wish there was some way to lock time away.
Don't you love the way photographs inspire thought? I find this to be true so often in coming up with blog posts! What I love here, too, is seeing another glimpse of your flash work, you come up with great stories. Liking your Friday idea!
Lovin' [F]oto Friday! Great take on the pic and she is a cutie! Great job Janna!
Soooooo sweet.
Great idea! I like the one sided conversation too. I could totally see your worried face. Cute pic!
That.is.so.adorable.
Awww, that's so cute!
I forgot that you tagged me awhile back. I looked for the sixth pic of the sixth file but it was just hubby, holding up a fish. LOL Nothing cute.
Your daughter is adorable. :-)
That is so cute! I like the idea for the new feature. I've unofficially made Saturday a photo day, but I like the idea to write a story about it.
Precious picture! And you brought tears to my eyes when she said she was leaving you and noticed your look. I am feeling all teary I guess about my own girl when she grew up and left home.
Nice job!
This is gonna be a great new blog feature, Janna! And like you, it's really good for me to have smaller, quicker projects to work on besides the WIP.
Breaker 1-9, good buddy!
That's too cute! Love it. Isn't being a SAHM great? One of the twins just came up to me with her giant stuffed animal. It's a yellow lab. She had blankets on its back and belly, and seemed sad (in an acting kind of way).
"My dog died," she said.
I didn't realize she understood what that meant, so I asked my 3 1/2 year old how her dog died. "It played too much and then it died."
A few seconds later, my other daughter brought her chocolate lab (stuffed animal) up to me and said her dog was sick. Apparently, he'd eaten too many noodles. LOL
Where do they come up with this stuff?
Have a great day.

Angie - 10-4, good buddy. ROFL! I just love ya!
Lynette, that's an awesome story! Sometimes I'm so surprised and tickled with the things kids are capable of creating.
What a great writing exercise! Cute little girl too! Sounds like a fun way to get the juices going.
I wish they'd do these rides for the parents, too :-P
T. Anne - Thanks! I'm hopeful it will be a good feature.
Jewel - ;)
Hi Janna! Thank you for stopping by my blog! Love the Friday Foto idea!
